Roadway closed in Sandy after water main break | News

A water main break closed a major roadway in Sandy Thursday afternoon.

Sandy Public Works crews closed part of 9400 S for repairs after the 16-inch pipe ruptured at 1300 E and sent water rushing down the road, tearing up asphalt.

Crews say the cause of the break appears to be a weak spot in the pipeline that gave way during the freeze-thaw cycle during the plast several weeks.
